Prempeh College has won the 2015 edition of the National Science and Maths (NSMQ) quiz held at the University of Ghana Business School.The Ashanti Region-based school beat Adisadel College and University Practice School after 3 competitive rounds of the science and maths contest.
They won with 42 points leaving Adisadel College at second place with 39pts and the University Practice School, 38pts at third place position.
This year’s quiz started with only 32 schools and has over the years, gained involved more than 130 schools across the country since 2014. It is aimed at promoting the study of Mathematics and Science in teh country and also foster healthy academic competition among senior high schools.
Prempeh College go back to the Ashanti Region with the bragging rights, the much coveted NSMQ trophy and a cash amount of 50,000 cedis.
Losing schools in the semifinals take away a prize of GH₵4000. And each contestant and teacher take away GH₵500.
